Martin’s Pretzels

If you think about pretzels for a minute you will probably think about one style and brand which is your favorite-I have finally found my favorite in Martin’s Pretzels!
Martin’s Pretzels are a hard twisted pretzel with just the right amount of salt.  The outside is crispy and brown and the inside also hard and a bit crumbly. After a few loud bites, your taste buds will find a toasty flavor emerge along with a slight back flavor of yeast.

Made in Lancaster County, PA using only four ingredients these pretzels get their impressive flavor from the care that is put into every one.  They are hand rolled and twisted, then boiled in water and soda, and finally placed in a 500 degree stone lined oven for 15 minutes.

Martin’s Pretzels have been a staple at Union Square Greenmarket for three decades where they sell broken and whole pieces three days a week.  Finally Martin’s Pretzels has found their way to our store in NYC and can be bought 7 days a week.
Broken Pieces $5.00 a pound
Bag of Pretzels $3.50

New at CMB are Gregoire Ganter images of New York and Food!

Gregorie is a fine arts photographer  a few years ago he gave up his day job to focus on his passion of photography.

We have a large image hanging in our store along with magnets, a set of 26 letters of alphabet which are $20 or $1.50 each, and post cards which are $1.95 each or 3 for $5.00.
The images are bright, clean, friendly and basically make you smile.

The High Line

As summer has finally made its grand entrance; so has The High Line. The High Line is a new city park that is situated on a elevated structure that in years past was used for a rail-based public transportation system.

This new public space cuts right through our back yard, running from Gansevoort St to 20th above 10th ave.   We encourage all of our customers to take advantage of the park and all that the Meat Packing district provides.

Of course you can always stop by the shop and pick up some of your favorite snacks for your outing.

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

This is my first entry in our new blog, which we are excited to share with you for lots of reason.  One that is happening right now is that  we are having a fun sale at great prices at our store to get the place cleaned and ready for Easter.  We have containers – some old inventory and some newer at ridiculous prices along with inspired specialty foods at prices starting at half a buck!

Come by we have many tastes and some great stuff that the staff is eager to purchase and they do not get a coworker discount on the stuff!

Early next week we plan to be looking like spring and filled with Easter fun!

Fentimens Berverages
Somehow, all of the sudden these beverages bring to mind The curious case of Benjamin Button? Perhaps it is the retro bottles and their extraordinary history which make me feel so sentimental.

Fentimans was originally established in the 1900’s, once again curiously one of my favorite eras. Victorian charms when recipes were simple, pure and dreams of America so large.
Elixirs, Aroms and tonics made of roots and natural extracts, rarely seen today are truly the bewitching botanical apothecary healers of an era gone by. I am simply not sure if it is sentiment or fruity sediments which measure the mark of Fentimans goodness.
